The deer hunting season is over, but now is the best time to start preparing for your next season. There is snow on the ground in a lot of states which makes it very easy to find fresh paths. The deer are moving similar to the patterns that they do during the late hunting season. So you need to start your scouting right now.
I found a pretty good video that talks about some hunting tips. The methods that they talk about is more geared towards concealment. However, while scouting during this time of year you don’t want to be detected just as much as during the actual hunt so that you can watch the deer and study their habits.
Using the same scouting techniques shown on this video just before the season opens will also prove very beneficial. The key here is to stop and study. Don’t spend all of your time walking around and looking for sign, stop and see what is really going on in that area and you’ll learn more about the habits and patterns of the deer in this area.

we spend a lot of time after the season scouting, especially during turkey season. you need to go while the woods are still open and the deer are in their regular patterns if possible.
