3-4 years ago or so I was out during the last day of black powder season. This day also happened to fall on the second day of the fall turkey season in Osage county. I was watching a trail that opened up into a clearing that had a pond. Now I was sitting on the ground leaning against a tree so I had to be pretty still. So, when I saw something out of the corner of my eye, I very slowly started to turn my head. When I looked over in that direction there wasn’t anything there so I figured it might have just been a squirrel running around or something. Have you ever noticed how many squirrels there are in the woods when you aren’t squirrel hunting? Anyways, I decided to watch that area for a few minutes to see what the movement was. I have lived in other states before. I’m originally from Wisconsin, but I’ve also lived in Virginia, Texas, and Louisiana. Every time I have moved in the past I wondered what that would do to my favorite pastime. What would the hunting be like? Are there plenty of paces to hunt? How about fishing?
