The fall hunting season is pretty much winding down. This weekend is the last extra doe season here in Oklahoma. About all that is left is duck season which is pretty much mediocre here in Oklahoma. However, I found a great and fun way to keep you in the hunting mood until next season.
I was strolling around the web today and found a site that has free deer hunting games, as well as turkey hunting, and bear hunting. And the best part is you can plays these games online. Just go to ESPN’s Online Hunting Games Website.
For me the deer hunting game is the best. First you select what type of stand you want to use and then you select your weapon. Are you a bow hunter? Then select a bow. Do you prefer the power of a 30:06? Then shoot ‘em up that way. Once you have made your selections, then you head out to the woods and test your skills. You can even select different calls and scents, etc.
Now don’t think that these games are just some shoot ‘em up time wasters. ESPN went all out to make these free hunting games as realistic as a game can get. They actually take a little bit of skill. However, for those of us, ahem, skilled hunters it’s not too much of a challenge. A little while ago I just got a nice 6 pointer. I’ve seen an 8, but haven’t been able to get within range with my bow just yet.
